Women Association of Rural Larnaca (WARL), since its establishment has has made significant contributions to European Projects , community initiatives, and other projects to combat social exclusion, as well as actions that promote equal opportunities for both sexes.
Other equally important activities of the WARL are its participation in various European Projects, most notably its participation in the EQUAL Community Initiative, which aimed to support the effort to combat discrimination, promote the creation of more employment positions, better terms of employment and to ensure that everyone has access to these positions.
WARL also participated in the Development Partnership named "New Women's Roads" with the project "New Roads for Women's Employment in Cyprus". The project was a partnership of 11 parties with the Larnaca District Development Agency (ANETEL) as coordinator. The goal of the project was to combine family and professional life.
The most recent action of the Association was the role of the coordinator in the project entitled "Cooperation in Corporate Social Responsibility: New Government Opportunities". The project was implemented within the framework of the Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) program with the aim of enhancing the development of civil society, thus contributing to the strengthening of social justice, democracy and sustainable development of the Republic of Cyprus by providing funding for NGOs projects within selected areas to be supported.
The project was co-financed by the Financial Mechanism of the Single Economic Space Program (EEA) and the Norwegian Fund for NGOs in Cyprus. Through this project, our Association has been certified with ISO 26000 for proper and good governance.
In addition, our Association develops volunteerism and tries to spread it as a value to its members, proving in practice its human and social profile, when and where there is a need.
The Association may participate in legal entities that promote the development, transnational cooperation as well as development partnerships that promote the well-understood interests of the organization and that can bring common benefits for the well-being of our Association.
